Jonas Gerard received a degree in engineering in New York City and participated in workshops at the Museum of Modern Art and at the Art Student's League in the 60's. Gerard is an autodidactic artist, he is both uniquely creative and innovative. He currently enjoys working in his large studio centrally located in Miami, Florida.
Gerard's welded steel and aluminum sculptures are playful and inventive, combining found objects and cut pieces to reflect his sense of discovery and fluid form. His impeccable compositions successfully balance structure with expressive, childlike abandon. He has been a leading presence in the art scene of South Florida for 30 years. His work is featured in private, corporate and public collections world wide.
